Jessica is a ballet dancer. The concept for her senior portrait shoot was poses on pointe in an urban setting. So we headed out to downtown Livermore. When we arrived, some sort of performance had just ended at the Bankhead theater resulting in a ton of high school kids wandering around wearing kilts. The timing could not have been better because it's much less weird to be dancing around on pointe, in a gorgeous dress, in a random alleyway, when everyone around you is a performer in some sort of costume anyways. When in Rome, right?
We had all kinds of fun figuring out which insanely flexible moves Jessica could hit. And we went around to several spots. In the black and white picture, when she came down from this pose I heard a strange metallic clinking sound near the ground. "Did something just pop off of your shoe?" I asked. "Umm...actually that was some change," Jessica explained. Apparently some guy in the parking complex behind us had showered Jessica with money. Another first at a photoshoot for me.
